GUANGZHOU, CHINA

IMG_5463

We landed in China today and had a 16 hour layover, so we managed to get a 72 hour VISA at immigration and a free hotel from the airline, so we took the opportunity to catch a train into the city. The last time I was in China was with my younger daughter, Lauren a few years ago. I got a nany to accompany us as we travelled in china. I forgot that the nanny was the reason why we travelled so easily. For Kirsten and I, it was quite a challenge to look at a map, pay for a ticket, catch the correct train and get off at the correct station–all without being able to read ANYTHING. And then, we had to figure out how to get back.

We had fun just getting ourselves around in a very different place.
