KATHMANDU, NEPAL

KATHMANDU

We landed in Kathmandu late at night from Guangzhou. We were met by our porter who took us to the youth hostel where we met and made fun friends from all over the world. Kirsten really had a great time talking with girls from the UK and Australia. In the morning we headed over to Tamil to do some shopping for items that we needed for our trekking. Driving in Nepal is similar to India. There are basically no rules. The center line if there is one is meaningless. Cows, dogs, monkeys, and grandmothers with babies on their back are all wandering the road without regard for insane traffic all around.

The food that we were given at the house was great. Each meal, we sat down with the other people volunteering throughout Nepal and discussed our day and mostly laughed about everyones different English ascents and other funny words. We learned that Australians have Fairy Floss, not cotton candy.

The photo is the view from our balcony at the house.

Pretty picture. Does it seem unreal to you? Glad Kirsten has met some young girls to talk to. This is fun, it is 3a.m here, couldn’t sleep.

What a cool adventure, and it’s just beginning.
