Again, Christian can not blog so in an effort to keep everyone updated, they are off the mountain. Tonight, at 9:00 pm Christian an Kirsten landed safely in Kathmandu. This is great news for many reasons. A storm moved into the Lukla area a few days ago and stopped all flights from Lukla. When they hiked into Ghat back to their host family’s home there was a real chance they might have to wait days before they could leave. Christian texted me early morning his time to say they were going to try to catch a flight out. Knowing they were flying out of the worlds most dangerous airport during a storm made me quite nervous but gratefully the flt was short and they landed safely. They have decided to stay in a hotel while in Kathmandu instead of the hostel so that they can take a long shower and relax. I don’t blame them.
